SCOTUS, POTUS, Socialized Medicine, and our Last Hope

June 28, 2012

“This ruling could go down as a major mistake by Roberts or as an extraordinarily clever move and we won’t know for a long time which it is. He clearly has upheld the law, which must make Obama and his supporters happy, but on the other hand, he’s upheld the law on the worst possible grounds for them [1].”

Once more, Dr. Gingrich’s political acumen is obvious.

Justice Roberts labeled the Obamacare monstrosity a “tax”, thus forever associating higher unemployment, and more widespread poverty with The Left in a blatant refutation of their highly-touted claim to care deeply about the American Public.

This could not have come at a better time for America and her Constitution-Loving citizens.

We have two months remaining before the Republican National Convention in Tampa.  This is time enough to convince our delegates to invoke RNC Rule #38 and vote their conscience instead of merely accepting the GOP’s Obama-lite, Mitt Romney.

In case anyone needs reminding about the failures of Romneycare, read the 2010 evaluation by then Massachusetts State Treasurer Timothy P. Cahill:

“The universal insurance coverage we adopted in 2006 was projected to cost taxpayers $88 million a year. However, since this program was adopted in 2006, our health-care costs have in total exceeded $4 billion. The cost of Massachusetts’ plan has blown a hole in the Commonwealth’s budget…The only reason MassCare has survived is that we have been repeatedly bailed out by the federal government [2].”

In addition, Romney used his trademark good-old-boy network to help him get the mandate passed:

The American Prospect’s Robert Kuttner observed:

“In Massachusetts, Romney needed and got buy-in from the powerful hospital, insurance, and corporate lobbies. To win that support, he could not fundamentally change the way they did business. Instead, private insurance companies got more customers thanks to the individual mandate, hospitals kept their beds full, and corporations that failed to insure employees paid only a token penalty of $295 per worker [3].”

Romney did what he does best.  What he always does.  What he will do if elected POTUS:  Pander to big-business and make the little guy (that’s us) pay through the nose.

Romneycare – Obamacare,  Obamacare – Romneycare.  Does it really make any difference?  Both will guarantee higher taxes, higher unemployment, and lower standards of living and medical care.  We cannot afford to have either of these individuals as POTUS.

But we have time enough to make a difference and nominate a true Conservative at our Convention in Tampa.  Who better to fill those shoes than the one man who said,

“Two hours after I’m sworn in as President and by the time the Obama’s land in Chicago, I will have 40% of Obama’s Government Dismantled [4]”, including Obamacare.

Republican delegates, it’s up to you to save America from disaster.  It is up to you to invoke RNC Rule #38 and vote as unbound citizens.  It is up to you to help Newt Gingrich save us from ourselves.

NEWT 2012!!!
